Showing how an animal trap works at the Stampede for Open SpaceThe perfect family event!  It’s FREE , it’s FUN, and there’s free food! Stampede! for Open Space is about enjoying South Platte Park and learning what’s happening with natural open spaces in your neighborhood as part of South Metro Land Conservancy’s commitment to educate the community. A fun day to visit the park and relive the history of the South Platte River and Littleton. Play the Stampede! Stumper and win a Stampede! bandana – they are colorful, collectible and useful! Learn about living in a tipi, trapping, water issues, animals in South Platte Park, and land uses. Make a fun recycled craft to take home and play fun old fashioned games – are all part of Stampede! For Open Space.

Mountain Man at Stampede for Open SpaceDonations are accepted and matched by private contributors to help protect and preserve open space in Arapahoe County.
